Jack Richeson's Navajo Studio Easel is a compact, sturdy, and reliable A-form easel that is perfect for tight work spaces. This easel's full height is only 56.5", making it ideal for painting while in a seated position. It folds flat to a depth of 4" for storage and weights 5.5lbs. Holds canvases up to 41" high. Floor dimensions are 27-1/2" x 22". Some assembly will be required.
This easel is made of Lyptus, a naturally occurring hybrid eucalyptus tree. It is harder than oak and resembles Mahogany with its grain texture and rich, red coloring. Lyptus is a highly renewable and sustainable resource grown on plantations and is ready to harvest in 15 years.
FLAX art & design is a genuine Oakland institution. Opening their first store in 1938, they're now on their 3rd generation of family ownership and have recently relocated to a beautiful new Downtown location that could best be described as a "toy store for artists." 80 years in and they're still putting art and community front and center. You can visit them at their own site here, or find more of their products right here on Keep Oakland Alive.
