      While looking on Craigslist for Tina Turner concert tickets, Judi Henderson-Townsend stumbled upon a posting for a mannequin for sale. Perfect.


      Judi had always wanted a mannequin for a mosaic project for her garden. When she contacted the seller — a former window dresser — he had fifty mannequins to sell. He was operating the only mannequin rental business in the Bay Area and was leaving the state.

      Although Judi had never touched a mannequin before, never worked in retail and never knew anyone who had rented a mannequin, she was intrigued.

      She felt a city as creative as the Bay Area needed a place to rent a mannequin. And so...she purchased the entire inventory.

      Judi claims that if she had more time to think about it (the seller was leaving town in two weeks), she would have talked herself out of the idea. But...here we are.

      Now her products include mannequins, dress forms, art models, accessories and more!
